Gears, by Morgyane Kiinzah [Beninese Literature]

The story of Kafue

Gears tells the story of Kafue. Do we really have to take our destiny into our hands, when this one seems to have escaped us? Are there only happy chances? How can we keep the reason when love knocks at the door of our hearts? How do we manage to lower our guard, to forget so quickly our convictions, our feline instinct and the strength that characterize us, when we fall in love?

Is Africa only that rickety child, described by many, that only the nourishing hand of Europe can cure?

All the answers to these many questions in Gears: a black novel inspired by real facts that retraces the journey of an African youth, very fascinated by the lights of Europe. In her quest for romance, Kafue, a beautiful young Beninese full of dreams and elves sees her life rocking after a meeting she believed idyllic.

An emotional shock book written like a cry of alarm, as a deep desire to protect humanity from the dreams that it is better sometimes to abort if these imply to leave there its freedom, even its life.
